Netflix Reinforces its Commitment to Japanese Animation with “Enter the Anime”

After spending the last few years investing further and further into the Japanese animated art style known as anime, the platform stands as one of the streaming leaders for fans of the popular genre with their own original and exclusive series available on the platform. Now the streaming giant is introducing new fans to the genre with their latest documentary “Enter the Anime.”

What is anime? Through deep-dives with notable masterminds of this electrifying genre, this fast-paced peek behind the curtain seeks to find the answers.

The documentary explores the history and rise of the popular animated genre and is aimed at newcomers to the genre. As comicbook.com’s Nick Valdez states, even though the marketing for the documentary states it’s for non-anime fans, already established fans should can enjoy it as well.

At the very least, this documentary will most likely inspire a few new fans out there to dive into what kind of anime there are on Netflix and other anime streaming services.

The film and follows anime newbie, Alex Burunova, as she dives into the mysterious world of the genre. The documentary features some of the biggest anime stars like Kenji Kamiyama, Shinji Aramaki, Kozo Morishita, production houses like TOEI Animation and Polygon Pictures and IP like Aggretsuko, Evangelion and Ultraman to give the fans a behind-the-scenes look at the elusive world of anime.
